Amarante is a rugby union player and one of two head girls at Auckland Girls Grammar School. The the past two years she has made the NZ Barbarian U18 Condor 7s, the Auckland Storm Wider Squad in the Farrah Palmer Cup, won Rugby Forward of the Year at Auckland Girls Grammar and made the Auckland Thunder U18s in 2023 and 2024.

She made her Farah Palmer Cup debut for the Auckland Storm in 2025 and was recognised as Auckland Rugby’s FPC Emerging Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.

Amarante has been awarded a NZ Rugby National Development Contract for 2026 and an Auckland Blues contract for 2026 Super Rugby Aupiki season. Her long-term aspirations are to play for the Black Ferns.
