Amarante is a rugby union player and one of two head girls at Auckland Girls Grammar School. The the past two years she has made the NZ Barbarian U18 Condor 7s, the Auckland Storm Wider Squad in the Farrah Palmer Cup, won Rugby Forward of the Year at Auckland Girls Grammar and made the Auckland Thunder U18s in 2023 and 2024.

She hopes to debut for the Auckland Storm when it kicks off later this year and her long-term aspirations are to play for the Black Ferns.
