- Scholars receive 300+ sports balls
- They choose 5-6 schools to visit in their community
- The visit inspires connection, confidence, and movement
- Schools are often in lower-income communities across Aotearoa
Making sport more accessible, one ball at a time
Pass It Forward is about leadership in action. We've partnered with Rebel Sport and Silver Fern so that each of our scholars in their third year delivers donated sports balls and equipment to schools of their choice — then leads a fun, inclusive session that brings kids together through play.
Many of these schools have limited access to gear, often in lower-income communities, making these moments more than just a game — they’re moments of connection, inspiration, and belief.
How It Works
Who It’s For
Pass It Forward supports two groups:
- TDF Scholars, who grow through the experience of giving back
- Intermediate & Primary schools, often in decile 1–3 communities with limited access to sports gear
It’s a moment of impact — for both those who give and those who receive.
Why It Matters
- It teaches leadership, humility, and initiative
- It creates access to sport for thousands of tamariki
- It helps scholars connect with their communities in a meaningful way
- It reinforces Tania’s legacy of giving back through action

Removing Barriers, One Ball at a Time
1 in 8 kids feel excluded from sport because they don’t have the gear. We’re helping change that.
Through the Pass It Forward campaign, every Silver Fern ball sold at Rebel Sport means another ball is donated to a school or club that needs it most.
