Charis is a Basketballer from Mt Maunganui and attends Mt Maunganui College.

She was in the NZU16 Women’s Basketball team that won silver in the Asia Cup held in Malaysia. In the 2025 season Charis was a training partner for the Whai basketball franchise in New Zealand’s professional women's basketball league.

In 2026 she represented NZ at the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup in the Czech Republic. Competing against the world's best young basketball players, Imani played a key roles in helping NZ achieve a historic 5th-place finish, highest-ever placing by a NZ women's team at a FIBA World Cup event.
