Dhys Faleafaga is known for her versatility across Sevens and 15s, making a name for herself in high school at St Mary’s College leading to national 1st XV and Sevens titles in consecutive years (2016-2017). In 2018, she joined the Wellington Pride, contributing to their Farah Palmer Cup Premiership win. In 2018, she was one of 28 female rugby players to be the first-ever 15s players to be offered Black Ferns  contracts by New Zealand Rugby.  She then earned her Black Ferns Sevens debut at the Japan Women’s Sevens 2019 in Kitakyushu, before earning her Black Ferns 15s debut v England in 2021. 

In 2023, Dhys signed with Chiefs Manawa for Sky Super Rugby Aupiki. After taking a break from rugby to give birth to twin sons, in February 2024 she was named in the Black Fern Sevens squad for the remainder of the season.

She hails from a rugby-enthusiastic family. Her mother, Vanessa, represented Samoa at the 2002 and 2006 Women’s Rugby World Cups and also played neteball for the Central Pulse. Her sister Lyric Faleafaga, was previously a member of the Black Ferns Sevens squad.
