Fia is a dual-code athlete whose sporting career began at Middleton Grange School in Christchurch. A versatile sportswoman, she represented Samoa at the international level with the Tifa Moana national team. Her netball tenure included key performances at the 2022 Oceania World Cup Qualifiers and the 2023 PacificAus Sports Netball Series.
Beyond the field Fia attended the University of Canterbury and completed a communications internship with the Crusaders in 2023.
In 2024, she transitioned to professional rugby union, initially debuting for Hurricanes Poua before joining Matatū for the 2025 Super Rugby Aupiki season. During her time with the Christchurch based Matatū, Fia established herself as a starting wing and played in the 2025 Grand Final at Eden Park. For the 2026 season, she has returned to the Hurricanes Poua in Wellington.
