Ocearn studied at Mt Albert Grammar School and was a member of the White Sox training squad and the Junior White Sox team in 2022. Passionate about softball from a young age Ocearn is a short stop that set her sights set on playing for the White Sox and moving to the US to play college softball.

Ocearn went on to represent the White Sox (New Zealand) at the Canada Cup in May 2024. Originally from West Auckland she earned a US scholarship to a Junior College in the US. Eastern Arizona College. She has been named in the 2025 White Sox team. 

She was the winner of the TDF Trustees Award for the Class 0f 2022.
