On the beach and in the pool, Olivia Tukia is a hard-working surf lifesaving athlete. Olivia recently competed in the 2023 Piha Ironwoman Invitational, where she was one of the youngest athletes. In the same year year she had podium finishes at the Red Beach Owen Chapman Championships, Eastern Regional Champs, and the Anthony Moss Swimming Championships.

2024 at the Queensland State Pool Rescue Championships, followed by the Australian Pool Rescue Championships in August, Olivia came home with 15 medals across these events, and set a new NZ U19 record in the 50m fins event. World Surf Lifesaving Championship competing for Currumbin SLSC, Olivia became a Junior World Champion in the 50m carry and medaled in several other events. At the NZ Pool Rescue Championships, she defended her national title and record in the 50m fins.

Olivia volunteers throughout the NZ beach patrol season as a patrol captain and senior lifeguard for Piha SLSC. After competing at  beaches around NZ, one of her season highlights was placing in nearly every race at the Northern Regional Championships, no surprise then she has been named in the New Zealand Senior High Performance Squad for 2025.
