Praise was a student at Otago Girls High School and a key member of their netball team. Following a MCL knee injury in 2022, Praise recovered to get back on the court for the U18 national championships and the South Island Secondary Schools tournament. In 2023, Praise attended the Netball NZ Netball National Development camp.
