A student at Waikato Diocesan School for Girls, in 2019 Teri was a key player in the U18 NZ team and a member of the NZ water polo born 2001 girls’ squad for four years. She also played water polo for the Waitakere Senior Women’s team in the national league.
When she played for the Waitakere U21 team they won a silver medal at the NZ Water Polo U21 National Championships.
